Hallyuwood is really the trend, thus the creation of numerous K-Pop idol groups, both male and female, is really rampant. It's inevitable that comparison between two K-Pop groups will arise, and that's what FT ISLAND's Lee Hongki wants to avoid.
There's an issue that FT ISLAND is compared to their labelmate CNBLUE. During the May 8-episode of SBS’ ‘One Night of TV Entertainment’ for 'Passionate Goodbye' interview, FT ISLAND's Lee Hongki implied his dislike about being compared.
Co-star Ma Dong Seok disclosed one situation. He said, “One time at the set, I cracked a joke, ‘Do you know Lee HongKi? CN Blue,’ and his expression wasn’t really pleasant.”

Lee Hongki was really surprised because he's about to answer a question. He elucidated, “We’re actually really close, but when people start to compare us to make a joke, it’s a little…” Ma Dong Seok nodded and said, “I think I know what you mean.”
