FT Island’s frontman Lee Hongki has been appointed as the new host for Mnet's weekly music program, ‘M! Countdown’, replacing former MC Tony An who left the show last week.
On August 27th, PD Jung Yoo Jin of ‘M! Countdown’ revealed, “‘M! Countdown’ will undergo a change beginning August 30, with FT Island’s Lee Hongki taking on hosting duties. He has good MC qualities such as graceful tongue and has the power of witty improvisation.”
Jung Yoo Jin added, “Hongki has led an active singing career and he has what it takes to be an MC with his skills of speaking well and wit. He’s especially fluent in Japanese, and is popular overseas which led us to choose him as the next MC that fits the show the best.”
