Popular KPOP girl group 2NE1 flew to Taiwan from Los Angeles on the 15th for their New Evolution concert world tour stop at Taiwan, Taipei Arena. They arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 5.50am.
The airport was already crowded with about 120 fans, 80% of them are females. The moment they saw 2NE1 coming out, the fans shouted: “goddess!” The girls departed to their hotel in a Mercedes Benz immediately after, to catch up on some sleep.
The hotel 2NE1 stays in costs NTD$25000 (~860USD) per person per night. 2NE1 has about 100 staff with them, 3 security guards from Korea, 5 security guards from Taiwan. All these show 2NE1′s superstar status. This is2NE1‘s first visit to Taiwan. They did not request for anything special, they only asked for fresh fruits to be prepared.2NE1 held an interview in the afternoon on the day they arrived. They looked a bit tired, but 2NE1 said that they feel great. Although 2NE1 only debuted 3 years ago, they have already performed in many countries.
During the interview, leader CL stated that time difference is not an issue to her. Because they are doing their world tour now, she is always tired and hence, she will sleep whenever possible. She also said: “I am looking forward to the concert tomorrow. I was very shocked to see so many fans in the airport today!”
Park Bom said that to maintain her figure and stamina, she will find time to do exercises and do sit-ups for at least 100 times. At this point, CL teased Bom: “that seems like a lie!” Recently, it was reported that Park Bominvented her own cabbage diet meal. [T/N This was actually back in 2010 before 'To Anyone' promotions] When asked about this, Bom corrected the report: “Our trainer wanted me to eat more cabbage. I merely took the photos of my cabbage meal for memory sake. I didn’t expect this to become a hot topic.” Park Bom enjoys drinking watermelon juice and she jokingly said that it made her lose weight. Fans immediately named it “Watermelon juice diet” which made her feel flattered.
Dara also expressed that she has learned Mandarin Chinese before, and she introduced herself in Mandarin Chinese: “I am Dara, I am 28, I have a younger brother called Thunder (MBLAQ member).” Hence, Dara was nominated by 2NE1 to be their Taiwan ambassador.
[2NE1 also revealed that they have prepared 26 of their popular songs such as “I Am The Best“, “Fire” and new song “I Love You” for the NECon in Taiwan. Despite having performed so many times, 2NE1 said that they still feel nervous.
2NE1‘s seniors, BIGBANG, recently held their Alive world tour at Taiwan as well. The boys from BIGBANG told 2NE1 that Taipei Arena was a fantastic venue to perform in.
