T-ARA N4 creates new music genre by combining traditional and hip-hop music




T-ARA N4 consists of Eunjung, Hyomin, Jiyeon and Areum will attempt to popularize a new music genre which is a combination of hip hop and traditional music.

Through their single, "Rural Life", the group will release a hip-hop version and a traditional version accompanied with traditional instruments.

Rural Life initially has hip hop concept with rhythmic dance. The lyrics were composed by Double Sidekick that tells about how to cope with everyday routines. It was inspired by the drama with the same name.

Moreover, the traditional version was arranged by Hwang Hojun. T-ara's agency explained,

"T-ARA N4 collaborated with Hwang Hojun to showcase their traditional music combined with hip hop tempo to make a crossover genre."

On the other hand, Hwang Hojun stated, "Combining songs with traditional music will be effective. I'm glad to be a part of it. This is a chance to promote Korean traditional music throughout Asia and hopefully around the globe."
