Despite the high percentage of viewership ratings, KBS drama ‘The Best Lee Soon Shin’ has been slammed with a ban request for critical comments about the great General Lee Soon Shin.
Recently, a group of youth submitted an application form requesting the banning of ‘The Best Lee Soon Shin’. This youth group stated that the drama is defaming one of the greatest heroes in Korean history, General Lee Soon Shin, which coincides with the name of the character IU plays.
Lines that criticized the great General could be heard on the weekend drama. In one particular scene where Lee Soon Shin (IU) had an interview, there was a line saying, “Is Lee Soon Shin really your name? How about signing up for ocean patrol and protecting Dokdo?” Sin Joon Ho (Jo Jung Suk) even called her ‘100 won’ since General Lee Soon Shin was on the 100 won coin.
Netizens portray their anger on the bulletin after the drama and claimed, “Change her name to something more appropriate” and “This is ridiculous, playing around with the name of one of our greatest people.”
