The reason behind Lee Joon’s exceptional casting

In the upcoming Kim Ki Deok’s Movie Production, “An actor is an actor”, Director Shin Yeon Shik revealed the reason behind the casting of MBLAQ’s Lee Joon as the male protagonist.

When the news of casting for the movie were revealed, Director Shin Yeon Shik stated in phone calls between reporters that Lee Joon “has different mindset and passion for acting.  As he’s an idol, there should be many aspects that he should worry for the sake of his image. However, he’s different from the others. Him, being not worried of his image, and his direct personality were what made me choose him”.

He also heard that “Lee Joon dreamt of being an actor before he became a singer. Thus, he doesn’t give the vibe that he is an actor that was from an idol group. This way, you can verify how valuable Lee Joon is after watching the movie. Director Shin Yeon Shik replied with confidence on his choice for male protagonist.

Director Shin Yeon Shik was acclaimed as a talented director based on the movie that he directed, 2005′s “Good Actor” and 2009′s “The Fair Love”. He won the Best Director Awards in Korea for his new movie, Russian Novel, which received the acclaim from critics and audiences on 17th Busan International Film Festival last October.

His new work “An actor is an actor” will depict the life of a popular actor, who stands up and gains popularity again, after suffering from a great slump in his life. Everyone is anticipating on whether movie, which is co-produced by Director Kim Ki-Deokand talented Director Shin Yeon Shik, will be another hit like the legendary movie “A movie is a movie” (2008).

Other than Lee Joon, casting for other lead casts has been completed. “An actor is an actor” will start shooting this year on the end of November.
