Psy’s “Gangnam Style” stays #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100

Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has yet to climb to the top of the U.S. Billboard chart. On October 10, the song ranked second on the Hot 100 singles chart, unable to dislodge Maroon 5’s “One More Night” from the top spot, where it has sat for four weeks.

According to Billboard, “The race was extremely close. Last week, ‘Night’ bested ‘Style’ by fewer than 500 overall chart points, the smallest difference between Nos. 1 and 2 since the Feb. 18 chart. This week, just 700 points separate the songs, as ‘Night’ gains by less than 1% in overall points and ‘Style’ declines by 1%.”

After entering the chart at No. 64 on September 13, “Gangnam Style” jumped to second place two weeks later. It has now been there three weeks. The chart takes into consideration album sales, number of downloads, and radio air play.
