SM C&C merges with AM Entertainment

SM Entertainment seems to be growing by the day. It’s affiliate group, SM C&C, has just merged with talent agency giant AM Entertainment, home to some of Korea’s A-list actors and actresses.

According to an SM C&C rep on September 19th, talents like Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ha Neul, and Han Ji Min, have all joined SM C&C. With this movie, SM C&C is hoping to grow as a representative video contents and drama production center in Asia. This will just another strategic move on SM Entertainment’s part, in addition to its ambitions of becoming a global acting management company.

One caveat is that AM Entertainment's Shin Min Ah and Hyunbin are not on the list of the agency’s talents that will also be signing with SM C&C. Both stars’ contracts with AM have expired and thus they are considering what the right next move would be in their careers.
Hyunbin is currently still serving his military duties, while Shin is busy shooting the drama ‘Arang and the Magistrate’.

Comedians Kim Byung Man and Lee Soo Geun will also be joining the growing team under SM C&C. Kim, who is currently in the variety show ‘Laws of the Jungle’, and Lee, who is on the variety show ‘1 Night 2 Days’, have both signed exclusive contracts. This houses them under the same company as Kang Ho Dong, Shin Dong Yup, and Jeon Hyun Moo.
