Super Junior’s Kangin and Supernova’s Sungmo share thoughts on ‘Goong’ musical

A press conference for the musical version of the Korean drama, “Goong” or “Princess Hours” has been held in Tokyo’s Shibuya on August 28th. Super Junior’s Kangin and Supernova’s Sungmo who have both been cast as the main character Lee Shin attended the conference to give their thoughts on the new production.

Sungmo, who has been cast a second time since last year’s production said, “It’s more relaxing since it is my second time, but I will try to show the audience improvement since last year,” adding that the most important thing is that the fans enjoy the production.

Kangin said, “I want to show the audience a spectacular stage from opening day. I want to be able to show a side of me that’s never been seen before.” Kangin added that TVXQ’s U-know Yunho, who starred in the same role in the first production of 2010, came to see him practice.

The musical, “Goong” takes place in a fictional Korea that still maintains its monarchy and deals with the romance between Crown Prince Lee Shin and an ordinary high school girl Shin Chae Kyung who later becomes his wife Crown Princess. The musical will run from September 1st through 13th at Tokyo’s Gotanda U-Port Hall. Sungmo will star from September 1st through 7th and Kangin from the 8th through 13th.
