Kang Ho Dong signs with SM C&C

Kang Ho Dong, who temporarily retired from the entertainment industry due to tax evasion controversy, has signed a new contract with SM Entertainment’s SM C&C and is preparing to make a comeback within the year.

SM C&C announced through press releases on August 17 that it signed exclusive contracts with Kang Ho Dong and Shin Dong Yup, putting two of the country’s top MCs under their management.

Kang Ho Dong stated, “I’ve spent a lot of thinking since last year, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the best decision is to return to TV as an MC and bring more joy to everyone. With the contract with SM C&C and the management of SM Entertainment, I’ll focus on my work to bring more joy and happiness to everyone.”

SM C&C CEO Kim Young Min said, “The signing of Korea’s biggest MCs Kang Ho Dong and Shin Dong Yup will only boost our growth and help build the foundation for us to produce a variety of broadcasts. We will work to support them as a management company that helps them become Asia’s best entertainers.”
