Big Bang’s Seungri gets own show and MC role on Japan TV

Just a month since embarking on his solo activities in Japan, Big Bang’s Seungri has already secured himself his own special program on Space Shower TV, “V.I from Big Bang” and an MC position in Fuji TV’s “Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke Eight”.

Following the conclusion of the group’s ‘Alive Tour’ in Japan, Seungri, who is known for his fluent Japanese skill, stayed behind in the country to focus on his solo activities.

“V.I from Big Bang”, which aired for the first time on August 2 at 10:00 PM, was the first show hosted by Seungri. It will show how Seungri goes about in preparations to build his program and the official title of the show will be decided later based on viewers’ suggestions.

Seungri was also chosen as a special MC on Fuji TV’s popular Japanese music show, “Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke Eight” where he interviewed Oguri Shun, EXILE’s Akira, Takei Emi, and more.

A representative from YG Entertainment stated, “Because of Seungri’s enthusiastic attitude, many people in the Japanese broadcasting industry think of him favorably. He’s also been studying Japanese diligently by putting up Japanese diary posts on Big Bang’s mobile fanclub ‘BIGBANG☆WORLD’. He has thus become more fluent in Japanese and has become able to take on a steady MC role.”

Seungri also appeared on Yomiuri TV’s popular variety show “Yoshimoto Jounetsu Comedy”. He received many favorable reviews by showing off the choreography of “Fantastic Baby” with some of popular Japanese comedians.
