Group Super Junior shed the light on their future goals and aspirations.
At the press conference of ‘Super Show 4’ which was held at Tokyo Dome, Japan on 13th May, Leeteuk expressed, “I've heard that the main stadium* in China can accommodate up to 80,000 people. I want to breathe in the same space with even more fans."
Eunhyuk also said that “Japan’s Tokyo Dome, USA’s Madison Square Garden and various other concert venues have never been perceived as our goals when we made our debut**."
He later expressed his wish, saying that, “While doing activities as Super Junior, I’m always taken by surprise when unimaginable things happen,” and “We want to hold concerts at various countries that we haven’t gone to before, and meet with our fans worldwide.”
Yesung drew attention with his words as well: “Although I think that our tours overseas possess great significance, I’d like to try having a solo concert in the country at the Jamsil Main Stadium***.”
'Super Show', which is Super Junior’s concert brand, began in the year 2007 and has since been held 3 times as an Asian tour, drawing 500,000 people in attendance. Driven by their worldwide popularity, Super Junior held their ‘Super Show’ this time as a world tour, which is of the largest scale in history.
After having a sold-out concert with 80,000 people in attendance at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome in December last year, their current concert (at Tokyo Dome) notched yet another similar success of being completely sold out.
In addition, Super Junior’s dignity as the leaders of the global K-Pop craze has been proven once again, because despite the fact that they have not made their official debut in Japan yet, nor had any additional promotional activities in the country, they were able to hold a solo concert at Tokyo Dome, an extremely large performance hall and a dream stage where only top artistes could stand upon.
On another hand, Super Junior will be holding their encore concert at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena for two days on the coming 26th and 27th of May.
* The main stadium in China is the Beijing National Stadium, also known as the “Bird’s Nest”.
** Meaning they had never expected to be able to hold concerts at said venues.
** The Jamsil Main Stadium, also known as the Seoul Olympic Stadium, has a capacity of 60,000.
