[NEWS] Scary number of views for Big Bang's ‘Monster’

Big Bang’s new music video, “Monster,” has topped the chart on China’s leading music video Web site Yinyueitai.com. The video drew nearly three million views since being released online; it also secured the No. 1 spot on the Web site’s weekly K-pop chart, “V Chart.”

On the first day, the video was given an average rating of 100 by Chinese viewers. “It is really unusual for a music video within the ‘V Chart Korea Chart’ to receive a full rating of 100,” said a Web site spokesperson.

Ahead of “Monster,” the Hallyu band’s music video of “Bad Boy” also received a perfect rating by a majority of viewers online. The rating is a combination of the number of views and viewer scores.

Meanwhile on the same chart, the band’s music clips “Fantastic Baby” and “Blue” also fared well, placing at eighth and 10th, respectively.

The Web site attracts more than three million visitors daily, making it one of the most popular sites for Chinese music lovers. “V Chart” is divided into selected locales including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and the West.
