For the past several months, Blackjacks have been voting for 2NE1 nonstop as a nominee for the "Best New Artist Video " in the2012 MTV VMAJ Awards. All of their work came to fruition as the girls attended the MTVJ Awards last night in stunning fashion.
Just prior to the event, Minji tweeted her excitement about attending the awards show, and the girls did not disappoint as 2NE1 strutted down the red carpet decked out in Jeremy Scott's latest Fall/Spring line of clothing. The looks were first debuted in the girls' promo video for their "New Evolution" World Tour, and were refined for the red carpet. The girls clearly stood out, and Jeremy Scott even tweeted about how amazingly unique CL looked.
The next time fans were able to see 2NE1 was when the girls riled up the audience with their energetic performances of "Scream" and "I Am the Best". First, the girls showcased more of their sexy side with an abreviated version of "Scream", complete with the hopping move that Dara previewed to fans (in the YGL NYC Hoodie!) before the release of the single. And of course, the shorter length on Dara's dress along with CL's train-less outfit was extremely eye-catching!
Then Minji broke into a short dance break, showcasing her popping moves and why is the "dancing machine" within 2NE1, before the girls went into a rousing performance of their nominated song "I Am The Best". With hands clapping and feet stomping, 2NE1 led the crowd into an energy-filled performance, and showed why there are "hot, hot, hot, like fire".
Blackjacks were in for even more good news as 2NE1 triumphed for the "Best New Artist Video" award again popular artists such as KYARYPAMYUPAMYU and LMAO. Bom's surprised expression was extremely adorable as the girls went to receive the award from model Rola. Leader CL impressed fans yet again with her flawless English acceptance speech.
The celebration didn't end with the win as everyone turned to SNS channels to talk about the performance & award. Rola posted a BTS pic with 2NE1 and showcased her love for the girls by calling them "my beloved 2NE1," while Crazy dancer Hee Jung also congratulated the girls on her Twitter. The girls, of course, wanted to thanks fans as well by tweeting through YGEStaff their appreciation to all their fans for their support.
