[NEWS] Jay Park tracks too risque for minors
Four tracks from Jay Park’s first album “New Breed” have been declared “harmful to youth” by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
The ministry announced yesterday that the songs “New Breed” and “Aom & 1llionare” were vulgar, “Turn Off Your Phone” was sexually suggestive and “Wasted” encouraged drug use.
The ban on the sale of these songs to minors will go into effect on Thursday.
Park will be able to appeal the ministry’s ban as Hallyu band After School did earlier this year.
The group’s song “Funky Man” was deemed to be “harmful to youth” by the ministry, but earlier this month the Supreme Court reversed the injunction on the song.
Last week, Park released six new tracks online, available for download free of charge. The songs were composed and written by none other than Park himself.
The Hallyu star is currently on the “Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month Tour,” making stops in Washington, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
